About Code Club North Tyneside
Learn more about the class and the provider
Code Club is a global movement of free, open, volunteer-led coding clubs where young people can explore coding and other digital making.
Whether you'd like to code your first game in Scratch, build a website or design an app, Code Clubs are a space for digital makers to explore technology on their own terms in an informal, creative, safe and social environment.
If you're aged between 6 and 16 and would like some help learning to code, please register to come along and join us on our journey to become a Coder Sensei.
Please bring:
- A laptop or tablet
- A parent! (Very important). If you are 12 or under, your parent must stay with you during the session.

Code Club North Tyneside launched in 2025 as a local volunteer-led community delivering free programming workshops for young people.
CODE CLUB NORTH TYNESIDE IS NO LONGER RUNNING SESSIONS.
Unfortunately, due to a change in circumstances, we've had to make the difficult decision to stop running Code Club sessions for the time being.
We're really sorry to share this news. Running these sessions and watching your young people be so enthusiastic about programming has been an absolute joy, and this wasn't an easy decision to make.
Keep coding! If you'd like to continue your coding journey, here are some places and resources we recommend:
- CoderDojo Gateshead
- Kids Hub Coding Club
- STEM North East
- Code Club World
- Raspberry Pi Projects
- NCCE Teach Computing
- Code.org
---
Code Club is all about learning together, supporting each other and sharing your knowledge. Our volunteers are here to help and challenge you. Come and have fun. We promote a focus on youth mentoring, and on peer and self-led learning.
We have plenty of tasks and pathways for you to complete in Scratch, HTML, JavaScript, Python, AI/ML and much more. Alternatively, if you have a project you've been working on and would like some help, we're happy to support you with any challenge you're facing.
Sessions ran on the last Wednesday of every month at 4:00pm - 5:30pm.
Parents must be present for children under 13.
